Architectural Thesis Award
Archistart promoted the third Architectural Thesis Award, the international thesis award, launched with the aim of promoting, rewarding and giving visibility to young talents in architecture.
The first and the second editions of the Architectural Thesis Award ATA2017 and ATA2018 were a great success among young talent in the architecture’s world.
202 young professionals under 35 of 25 different nationalities took part in the competition with 148 projects.
Archistart is the “home” of all the architecture thesis and, specifically, of the following theses categories: architectural design, urban and landscape planning, restoration, infrastructure, technological systems and parametric design.
Prizes
The award includes a grant of € 2,000 in cash and the chance to participate in Archistart contests and workshops free of charge.
Archistart also promotes a social contest on its portal: prizes consist of free participation to the International Architecture&Design Festival IAHsummer2019 edition or free admission to an Archistart competition.
Jury's members
→ Tomas Ghisellini
Finalist in several international competitions, he is the winner of national architectural design competitions for public and private works, all completed or in progress. It was awarded by Renzo Piano for the 2013 edition of the Renzo Piano Foundation Award dedicated to the best Italian talents under 40. In 2014 he received the IN / ARCH Award.
→ Roberto Vangeli | Zaha Hadid Architects
Roberto Vangeli, specialized in infrastructure and transport field, joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2006 to work on the detailed design of the new High-Speed Train Station in Napoli-Afragola.
→ Barreca & La Varra
The architectural firm Barreca & La Varra was founded in 2008 in Milan by Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra, formerly founding partners of Boeri Studio in 1999. Over the years the professional activity of the two architects has acquired national and international importance in the field of urban and architectural design.
