IAHsummer16 was in San Cataldo, Lecce, Italy from 1 to 9 August 2016. 100 youngsters from all over the world had the chance to live 9 days full of architecture and entertainment in the wonderful coasts of Salento.

The workshop involved 100 young people split in teams and followed by a tutor who provided all the materials necessary to produce the documents required.
The teams produced two tables A2 format, where projects realized with freehand will be represented and a three-dimensional model in 1:50 scale.

The goal of the workshop is to design temporary emergency shelters able to provide reception and first assistance services to all people who are in need because of natural disasters, war, poverty and race, religion, nationality and political reasons.

IAHsummer16 was full of activities. The workshop began with a SKETCHMOB, a temporary event, free and itinerant organized by Alterstudio Partners, in the charming Piazza del Duomo, in the heart of Lecce.
The workshop hosted many lectures, held by Archistart guests, invited to share their projects and experiences with IAH participants, including some members of CAPS, world-leading company in modular building system, Alterstudio – architecture firm partner, the association Diritti a Sud and PazLab – communication and web design firm studio that presented Archistart rebranding strategy. Pool party, dinners, Salento tours, night parties, beach day-off and traditional dinners made this edition unforgettable too – IAH style!
