After the amazing days at the Design Week in Milan it’s time to take stock of this experience: here is the installation that stunned and impressed our Archistart team most, because of its spectacular nature, power and brightness.

TOKUJIN YOSHIOKA per LG: S.F_Senses of The Future presenta un’installazione luminosa su larga scala by LG in collaborazione con il designer, Tokujin Yoshioka
Tokujin Yoshioka is especially renowned for his poetic designs based on groundbreaking experimental techniques as well as for his ability to reflect the beauty of nature and the complexity of human senses in the mediums of design, art and architecture.
When we were children, we freely imagined the future, and we sensed our destinies in our dreams, “SF (Sci-Fi)” is an expression to represent Science Fiction – imaginative concepts of futuristic science, technology, space or life, and commonly known around the world in the form of films, novels and comics.
S.F_Senses of the Future combines the state of the technology of LG with the unique artistic vision of Tokujin Yoshioka. This ingenious installation projects a poetic phenomenon that can only be described ad a tapestry of light: a truly futuristic dimension which confounds ad transcends the human senses.

Tokujin Yoshioka è conosciuto specialmente per il suo design poetico basato su tecnologie sperimentali innovative oltre che per la sua abilità nel riflettere la bellezza della natura e la complessità dei sensi umani mediante il design, l’arte e l’architettura.
Quando eravamo bambini, abbiamo immaginato liberamente il futuro, ed abbiamo intuito i nostri destini nei nostri sogni. “SF (Sci-Fi)” è un’espressione che significa Science Fiction (Fantascienza) – concetti fantasiosi di scienza futuristica, tecnologia, spazio o vita, e comunemente conosciuti nel mondo sotto forma di film, racconti e fumetti.
S.F_Sensi del Futuro combina lo stato dell’arte della tecnologia LG con l’unica visione artistica di Tokujin Yoshioka. Questa installazione ingegnosa proietta un fenomeno poetico che può solo essere descritto come un arazzo di luce: una dimensione veramente futuristica che confonde e trascende i sensi umani.

Solar flares are created by magnetic energy amassing in the sun’s atmosphere, which is suddenly released, emitting radiation across the entire wavelength spectrum.
Here on earth, the resultant sudden flashes of brightness are experienced by every creature on the planet.
It was LG’s research into light adn light-related innovative technology the led to the development of OLED lightings (50mmx50mm Organic Light-Emitting Diode): a light source closely resembling natural light, attracting the attention of the world ad the pre-eminent energy-saving, human-friendly light source for the next generation.
Wall of the Sun is a vast mural of lighting (16mx5m) which emits random illumination from 30,000 OLED lightings in the manner of an actual solar flare. The energy of this light, bouncing and reflectiong as it does between the natural and the man-made, will permeate every nook and cranny of the echibit’s space. This brillant installation is closet yet to the truly mystical experience of out planet’s future.

Le esplosioni solari sono create dall’energia magnetica che si accumula nell’atmosfera del Sole, che viene poi improvvisamente rilasciata, emettendo radiazioni attraverso l’intero spettro della lunghezza d’onda.
Così sulla Terra gli improvvisi lampi di luce che ne conseguono sono vista da chiunque sul pianeta.
E’ stata la ricerca di LG nel campo della luce e la sua tecnologia innovativa in quest’ambito che ha portato allo sviluppo dell’illuminazione OLED (50mmx50mm Organic Light-Emitting Diode): una fonte di luce molto simile a quella naturale, human-friendly e a basso consumo energetico a beneficio delle nuove generazioni.
Wall of the Sun è un’ampia parete (16mx5m) di 30000 luci OLED che si illumina proprio come una vera e propria esplosione solare.
L’energia di questa luce si riflette in un gioco tra naturale e artificiale e si diffonde in ogni angolo dello spazio espositivo. Questa brillante installazione permette di viviere davvero un’esperienza simbolica e sensoriale del futuro sul nostro pianeta.

The S.F chair to be presented during Milano Design Week is a futuristic creation, fusing natural light and technology.
Bifacial (double-sided) OLED digital signage, just 15mm in thickness, is the result of LG’s cutting edge technology, created to realize a natural-looking chair which illuminates a tapestry of light, transcending human senses, thus metamorphosing into a perfect symbol of the new age.

S.F chair presentata alla Design Week di Milano è una creazione futuristica, che fonde la luce naturale e la tecnologia.
Il digital signange OLED (su entrambe i lati, spesso solo 15mm, è il risultato della tecnologia all’avanguardia di LG, inventata per creare una sedia dall’aspetto naturale in grado di ricreare un quadro di luce, trascendendo i sensi umani e trasformandosi così nel simbolo perfetto della nuova era.
