Archistart promoted the Self Construction Competition, the contest for the design of an urban installation to be built within DIY techniques (self-construction) that gives you the chance to see your idea actually realized.
22 young professionals under 35 of 8 different nationalities took part in the competition with 17 projects.
The jury was composed of Archistart team.

Jury’s motivation:
The project stood out for responding to the call for proposals with an iconic installation and strong identity. The research on the application of unconventional materials and the related imagined construction process was appreciated.
Motivazione giuria:
il progetto si è distinto per aver risposto alle richieste del bando con una installazione iconica e della forte identità. E’ stata apprezzata la ricerca sull’applicazione di materiali non convenzionali ed il relativo processo costruttivo immaginato.
2ND PLACE

Jury’s motivation:
The project was strongly appreciated by the jury for its ability to solve and interpret the functional needs required by the call for proposals with a potentially replicable intervention on the urban waterfront. At the same time, it is emphasized that the project does not solve the accessibility to the beach for the disabled.
Motivazione giuria:
il progetto è stato fortemente apprezzato dalla giuria per la capacità di risolvere ed interpretare le necessità funzionali richieste dal bando con un intervento potenzialmente replicabile sul waterfront urbano. Allo stesso tempo si sottolinea come il progetto non risolve l’accessibilità alla spiaggia per i diversamente abili.

il progetto è stato apprezzato per la capacità di interagire in diverse forme ed usi con il lungomare e con la spiaggia e per l’integrazione di elementi di comunicazione.
