The city of Lisbon is globally known for its process of redevelopment of its coastline since the 1990s, with different interventions often focusing on the industrial reconversion and the public space. The counterpart of Lisbon, the city of Almada on the other side of the estuary of the Tagus, despite being involved at the same time in many similar processes, is a case study studied less often. Taking into consideration some ongoing plans of the Almada Municipality, the aim of our project is the intervention on a part of this coast which is still without a certain destiny, in an attempt to combine a strong functional program with an attention to the historicaln and territorial features of his waterfront.
