The title ” Green Matrix Urbanism” is derived from equating city or habitation to the biological Cell-Matrix present in all living organisms. Matrix in biological context means the fabric of extra cellular matter found around and between all cells, providing the necessary micro environment & nourishment for cells. The relationship between the fabric and the cell is very crucial for the healthy functioning of any organism.
Putting it into the context of habitation the built form becomes the cell that acts as the power house of the organism and the fabric is the environment and nature around it that provides necessary nourishment for the healthy functioning of the organism-the city.
